Hello and welcome to my corner of the internet. My repository of everything I have researched and experienced in order to fight Fibromyalgia – chronic pain, chronic fatigue and insomnia.
I’m Melissa and I am a mama, author, fibro fighter, planner, doer and coach. I received my Life Coach Certification through the Transformation Academy. I am currently working on becoming a mindfulness practitioner through the same education provider – because I am super passionate about using mindfulness for chronic illness.
I blend research, anecdotal evidence and personal experience in order to help you fight chronic pain/chronic fatigue/insomnia and the many disorders that cause these.

I’ve been fighting Fibromyalgia for more than a decade. After struggling through the first half of my twenties exhausted and miserably sore without any doctor interested in helping me, I decided to begin fighting for myself. I moved to a warmer climate with my parents and brothers and reduced my work hours from full time to 27.5 hours per week. That’s when life began to slowly get better.

I wrote these for a few reasons, the first is that I felt a clear mission to help other people not spend as long as I did miserable and unsure what to do to help themselves. The second is that I really enjoy researching and writing. The third is that there was such an information gap, it had to be done.

PS: I am obviously not a health professional, I only know what works for me. I share my journey so that people would know the things they can try, in discussion with their medical team. We are a long way from the world in which I received my diagnosis, it was a hostile world where no one I knew believed in fibro/CFS and there was little information. I always expect that you will do your own research and will chat with your own team of medical professionals.
